Teller Terms of Use

Welcome to Teller. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Teller application and website (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Teller ("we," "our," or "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use Teller. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. We do not knowingly allow children under the age of 13 to use the Service, and we will terminate any account we discover belongs to a user under 13.
2. Your Account
To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information when registering and to keep your account information up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. 3. Use of the Service
You may use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use the Service to upload, transmit, or generate content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable
- Upload photos or content that you do not have the right to use, or that violates the privacy or intellectual property rights of others
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract the source code of the Service
- Use the Service in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair our systems
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access or interact with the Service
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its related systems
We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action against anyone who, in our sole judgment, violates these Terms, including suspending or terminating their account.
4. Your Content
Teller allows you to upload photos and other content ("User Content") to generate stories. You retain ownership of your User Content. By uploading content to Teller, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store and process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you — specifically, to generate and display your stories.
We will never use your User Content for advertising, AI model training, or any other purpose without your explicit written permission. For more information on how we handle your content, please review our Privacy Policy at teller-app.com/privacy.
You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to all User Content you submit, and that your User Content does not violate the rights of any third party.
5. AI-Generated Content
Teller uses artificial intelligence to generate stories based on your photos and inputs. You acknowledge that:
- AI-generated stories are created automatically and may not always be accurate, appropriate, or reflective of your intentions
- We do not guarantee the quality, accuracy, or suitability of any AI-generated content
- AI-generated stories are provided for personal, creative, and entertainment purposes only
- You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before sharing it with others
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all liability for any AI-generated content that you find inaccurate, offensive, or otherwise unsatisfactory. If you encounter content that concerns you, please contact us at privacy@teller-app.com.
6. Subscriptions and Payments
Teller offers a free tier that includes a limited number of stories, and a paid subscription ("Teller+") for unlimited story creation. By subscribing, you agree to the following:
- Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly basis
- Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date
- You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or through the App Store or Google Play, depending on where you subscribed
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will continue to have access to Teller+ features until that date
- We do not offer refunds for partial subscription periods, except as required by applicable law
- All payments are processed through third-party payment processors (Stripe for web, Apple In-App Purchase for iOS, and Google Play Billing for Android). We do not store your payment card information.
7. Intellectual Property
The Teller name, logo, application design, and all related materials are the property of Teller and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not use our trademarks, logos, or branding without our prior written consent.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial purposes.
8. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or engaged in conduct that is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at privacy@teller-app.com. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. We will delete your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 5, 7, 9, 10, and 11 — will survive any termination or expiration of these Terms.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
We make no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any AI-generated content produced through the Service.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL TELLER, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING UNDER THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY DOLLARS ($50).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you.
11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
Before filing any formal legal action, you agree to first contact us at privacy@teller-app.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will use reasonable efforts to resolve any dispute within 30 days of receiving your written notice.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this document. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice in the app. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
